Sunburst classes last a very full 60 minutes, including a substantial meditation. Because this class is more about getting moving than detailed alignment instruction, some asana experience and/or at least one full month of Bhava Basic Cycle class attendance is strongly recommended. Energy and instruction are equivalent to Bhava Vinyasa classes.
Sunburst Sequence
- Opening & warm-up - we begin standing in Tadasana, mountain pose, with the hands in Namaste or prayer position, gently centering our attention in the breath. We chant OM three times together and then move into a flowing series of sun salutations to warm and awaken the body and clear out the head, all the while deepening the Ujjayi breath.
- Middle - we move through a brief but complete floor sequence and finish the active portion of class with an inversion
- Close - we move into a five-minute Savasana, or final relaxation. We then come to sit together for meditation practice and again chant OM three times.
