teacher training

Peter Rizzo offers free teacher training to groups of students at Bhava, his retreat center located just north of the studio, and in classes he teaches in Northampton, Massachusetts and New York City.  He also provides private, one-on-one teacher training at affordable rates. Over the years, many Bhava-trained teachers have moved onto teach in other parts of the world where they work independently and freely at the art and science of yoga. Although there is no current group training taking place, contact Peter (peterrizzo9@gmail.com) to see if one is forming or to explore other options.

On December 4, 2010, Peter will be teaching a one-day workshop on the Art of Sequencing as part of the Rasamaya 200 Hour Teacher Training that will be held at Bhava Yoga starting in August and continuing through December. See the description below for more information or visit www.rasamaya.com.

This Yoga Alliance Approved Teacher Training as developed by Carrie Tyler is designed as an in depth journey into Rasamaya™ vinyasa teaching. Rasamaya™ as a vinyasa practice believes in giving each teacher the freedom to be creative and authentic in their instruction. As such, a basic framework is provided which includes a set series for warm up, intention setting, philosophy, class structure, and closing, but the actual heart of each class draws from the knowledge and strength of each individual teacher. Many many flows, pranayama, philosophy and meditation techniques will be provided to give each instructor an incredibly strong base from which to create authentic movement.
